This is a frequent problem that can be caused by several different factors. Older homes often have smaller lines leading from city water lines, so are more susceptable to drops in pressure, especially when more than one fixture is drawing water at the same time. For example, if the washing machine and dishwasher are both in operation, you may find you cannot get enough water pressure for a shower.
The easiest fix is an adjustment of the pressure reducing valve for the home. To avoid scalding, pressure balanced shower valves can be added to maintain an even temperature when showering.

A heat pump that is freezing up can incur serious damage if not repaired. This can be caused by malfunctioning defrost relay or controls, sticking reverse valve, dirty filters, malfunctioning fan motors, malfunctioning defrost thermostats or sensors or the heat pump may require leveling. If your heat pump is freezing up, contact a technician to assess the repairs. If you heat pump is completely covered in ice, shut it off immediately.
Most heat pump issues derive for dirty filters. Cleaning or replacing your heat pump filters can rectify this issue. Your heat pump may also be low on refrigerant. One of our technicians can test refrigerant levels, check for leaks and add the required refrigerant.
